Free Surgical Missions
Providing essential free surgical care to indigent individuals.


The provision of quality and essential surgical care is the core objective of KHSF. These surgical services entail screening/consultations, surgical procedures,non-surgical treatment as well as follow-up care. These services are provided by expert head & neck surgeons from various specialities. The missions are designed as week-long interventions, weekend short programmes, and individualised procedures as the need arises.
Summary of 2025 Surgical Missions
Multiple missions were held between September and November 2025, at the Noma Children Hospital and Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital Sokoto.
Over 200 patients were screened, out of which about 128 surgeries were offered and the rest were provided non-surgical treatment. Some of these procedures required multidisciplinary approach and complex reconstructive techniques in staged surgeries. Some of the procedures carried out were excisions with/without reconstruction for Parotid tumours, Thyroglossal cysts, Lip Heamangiomas, Cheek/Scalp SCC, Dentigerous cysts, Recurrent tonsilitis, Earlobe keloids, Dermoid cysts, Osteoma, Total nasal reconstruction, Submandibular tumour, Lipomas, Facial plexiform neurofibroma, and Radicular cysts.
